Ebury, the global financial services firm, is partnering with Form3, a leading global fintech offering account-to-account payments technology, to deliver instant payments in Canada via the country’s new Real Time Rail (RTR).

The partnership expands the existing relationship between the two companies, with Form3 already providing Ebury with connectivity to the UK’s Faster Payment Service (FPS) and Europe’s SEPA payment schemes, through its best-in-class cloud native platform.

Under this partnership, Form3 will enable Ebury to connect to Canada’s RTR , delivering instant payments and frictionless cross-border transaction capabilities to its corporate clients. Canada’s RTR, which is undergoing a phased rollout, is a new real time payment system supporting exchange, clearing and settlement.

The initial launch of the rail is taking place in Q4 2026, with additional participants able to join in phases throughout 2027. Ebury will leverage Form3’s platform to be among the pioneering institutions joining across the successive stages in 2027.

Form3 enables banks and fintechs to connect to payment rails in North America, the UK and Europe through just one platform, providing the financial fabric that institutions need to keep up with customer demand for global instant payments. It processes 5 billion transactions annually for over 40 global customers including J.P. Morgan, Barclays, Santander, and Klarna.

Mike Walters, CEO and co-founder of Form3 commented: “We are thrilled to be supporting Ebury to deliver instant payments in Canada. The new real time rail marks Canada’s move into instant payments, but it has somewhat of a late-mover advantage, having modelled its rail on both the UK and US’ offerings. As a result, banks and fintechs are looking for partners with a strong track record in these regions to support them to deliver instant payments in Canada and we are pleased to be bringing our experience to bear.”

Mike Malak, Country Manager at Ebury Canada commented: “Our existing success in the UK and Europe with Form3 made them a natural partner for instant payments in Canada. As we continue to expand our offering, simplicity, speed and minimising disruptions to our customers remain the top priorities. With Form3’s cloud native platform, we are able to add a new rail and ensure regulatory compliance with ease. We look forward to being able to offer instant payments in Canada to all of our customers as we empower them to unlock their global ambitions.”
